We invite our rising 9th grade EPIC students and parents to attend an EPIC experience during Orientation Day on Thursday, August 3rd from 2:30 – 3:30pm. We will greet parents and students at the main entrance of the school and direct you to the EPIC math classroom (B209), as the building will be closed to all other visitors at this time. In the classroom, parents and students will have an opportunity to meet the teacher team and experience an EPIC experience which will provide a glimpse into the expectations and opportunities students will have in this program.
If possible, each parent and student should bring a phone or electronic device to use for interacting with us during the experience. Parents and students will be able to meet their teachers and walk their class schedule together during Freshmen Open House from 3:30-5:00pm. Teachers will be using Google Classrooms for student communication and collaboration. In order to prepare for this event, we will create a Mill Creek Google email address for each student and ask that you complete the steps to access the Google classrooms prior to the meeting (follow the link for EPIC Student Directions for logging in to Mill Creek Google Account ). Students will not be able to complete this until Tuesday August 1, 2017. You can access the list of materials needed specifically for the EPIC program here:EPIC Materials As a reminder, all rising 9th grade EPIC (PBL) students will read The Martian by Andy Weir (Classroom Edition) for their Summer Reading Assignment. Please click on this live link Summer Reading to answer assignment questions. This should be completed before the first day of school on August 18th. EPIC (PBL) Program for Rising 9th Graders
